I have bought a tie I would like to wear to the party that's (still) yet to come (24th March) and I'f like to know what you all think. Here is a hurried photo I took of just the shirt and tie (i.e. ignore the trousers and the fact the shirt isn't tucked in properly )

Please write exactly what you think of it - be honest. I don't care if you tell me that I look like some plonker or some weirdo twat or something, as long as you are honest - that is the main thing.
I won't be offended by what you say - I'd rather look a fool here than on the day! _________________ Teenager. FTM gender dysphoric 'transgender tomboy'

Kenneth,
I think the tie looks fine. You might want to work on your knot, with a full-windsor or half-windsor looking a bit neater. But then what do I know - I've been wearing these things (nearly every day) since I was 5 years old!

Oh yes - I forgot to say - I only meant is it an okay choice. I didn't do the knot properly because I didn't want to get it creased if I did have to take it back.

I think the tie looks great and it suits you, I'm not fond of red myself but I do think it looks good on you. _________________ Chrissy

Looks good on you but I agree with William on the black shirt . The knot looks fine to me but I don't know much lol. I could never do it myself . _________________ Hellfrozeover be a pirate and a Transgenderzone moderator.
I don't stand under the TG umbrella anymore, it's way too bitchy and crowded in there but it's sunny out here

Can't buy another shirt - no more money
At least I do, but I'm not earning and I'm sticking with what I've got now (apart from I can exchange the tie).
I'm even sticking with the first suit jacket I bought, unless I can find one for free. _________________ Teenager. FTM gender dysphoric 'transgender tomboy'

You can sometimes get good suit jackets in charity shops. I got a really nice one for a fiver, probably would have cost £50 in a proper shop.
I agree on the windsor knot. To be honest, I am not a big fan of red ties. But that is probably just my taste

Thanks all for your advice.
I was going to get a darker red - more like a sort of wine colour(?) but couldn't find one.
I must practice my knotting then

I would go for a cream or pastel tie with a Windsor
the trouble with that sort of tie it can look like a 7 year olds birthday party

Mm, with that collar, half-windsor. Though actually, your four-in-hand wouldn't look bad at all, if you tidied it up, and that tie might look too short with the other knot.
Yeah, the solid shiny red does look pretty festive. But it is for a party.
