I can't find a Dr Callendar by googling although there are plenty on the GMC register.

Reenie - many thanks. Luckily not my contact at that hospital. You know, I think my GP will be OK. He seems to trust me when I need to see x specialist, he has always obliged. Fingers crossed anyway. I'll ask to see x again for an update as have a couple of issues to follow up on (it's been two/ three years). Then I can bring up the tricky subject... Only problem is if he has moved on.

If you feel awkward broaching the subject with your GP, whether you know them or not, I recommend making an appointment a couple of days in advance and then leave a letter with their secretary to explain why you wish to see them.
This ploy has worked for a number of us. I can word a letter if you need help. If I'm not around, Chrissy (PurplePrincess) knows what to do.

That's very kind of you. I have a scheme. I'm going to ask to see my pysch on grounds of peventing another bout of anxiety. Then I'll bring it up there. That way my GP would not need to know specifically. That's OK isn't it? Mind you, nothing has fazed my GP to date, so honesty may be the best policy. It's my better half I worry about, although tonight she said I needed a bra and that was after a handbag comment earlier! Our youngest kept poking my chest and saying breasties (not sure how to take that one :p). It's been a weird week. Time for a blog?

Odd when I first posted last week, I asked any advice for a beginner. 30 years of hiding things hardly constitues a beginner does it. Oh well, nerves, verbal diahorrea and all that. Have asked for a referral and will get one, although I was a bit naughty and just illuded to previous depression and the need to work through more issues associated with that. Question is, when the time comes will I have the courage? I feel physically sick (fear) just thinking about telling anyone face to face. Anyway I would do a blog, just cannot think of a suitable title (any helpers please?). Been an incredibly stressful few weeks really (nothing to do with GID), and life might appear good on the outside, but it ain't been great in 2008.
Oh and I did some measuring. d2:d4 is 1.03 in both hands, and elbow angle is about 20 degrees, so interesting (biologically) that some bits of my body match my brain, whereas the other bits (between the legs) do not.
Bye for now from a very knackered and deflated Lorry (you could say in need of a service or a total overhaul :p)

Chrissy. Title changed, if you could move, I'd be very grateful.
Thank you

It's amazing what alcohol can do to the neurons . If only it worked on other body parts...
Thanks again.
