I'm trying not to lose patience with my beard. It's a messy five o'clock shadow at any time of day and I can only shave every other day now that the hormones have slowed it up a bit.

It itches like hell at times because my skin has softened more than the hairs.

I tried plucking it out some years ago, but it was tedious and painful. Slow torture...

The Sandyford has told me to wait until I've seen the endo before going for IPL.

Today, I thought I'd clobber it with some wax. I had some of those ready-prepared strips and it actually removed a few of them and was no-where near as painful as doing them one at a time. Unfortunately, plenty were left behind.

So I tried a pot of warm wax and the strips that came with that. Useless. Didn't shift a thing.

The grey hairs are the worst. They have a texture like fuse-wire and are welded to their roots. Even with tweezers it's difficult; they're as stubborn as tree-stumps.

They're becoming more numerous and the longer I have to wait, the more electrolysis I'll be needing.

Waxing's a non-starter, for me anyway...

Even to shift a few, it requires that the hairs be allowed to grow for at least four days for the wax to get any purchase and designer stubble does not an appealing girlie make. Sad

I found the best stuff was this wax.

I've done my face a few times and the results usually last a couple of weeks but the regrowth is hellish and mostly ingrown and you should expect the first few shaves when it comes back to be rough with a lot of shaving cuts. It's worth it every so often though and sometimes you can avoid the ingrowns with this.

Good luck Smile .

Anyone know anything about this product, which was on the page from HFO's link?
http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1054827&classificationid=1029764&wblinktype=RELPL
- must admit, it sounds rather like snake-oil to me....

Yeah, I have personal experience of using it. It's a strong exfoliant and allows the hair to come through the skin. If it was 'snake-oil' as you so snidely put it then I wouldn't have posted it Rolling Eyes . Try using it before reviewing.

Did you actually FOLLOW THE LINK?
.....which leads to a spray claimed to drastically slow the regrowth time after waxing?
Evidently not.
Review???
..... will you please quote me the part of my post which constitutes or implies any form of review?
I said " it SOUNDS like snake-oil to me...." which clearly implies a lack of personal experience and an opinion only of the truth of the advertised claims.

Wrong product, half-wit comprehension skills.
Do not fire your bitchy comments at me without just cause.

Uh yeah I did follow it because I posted it. Duh. As far as I can see you're the one being making the bitchy comments here so off you go to find more things to snipe at Rolling Eyes . I use most of that range (on my legs actually) and as a mod, I wouldn't post links to placebos.

HFO - the link does now come up as the same product for me too - it DID lead to the inhibitor once though, I re-tested it after your post.

Your response to my "snake-oil" post is now in context and understandable, so I apologise for snapping back.
Sorry, HFO Embarassed

Yes, I was very confused by this - it led to a completely different product for me the first time I looked at it too - and then when I looked back it didn't any more. Very strange indeed!

Anyway, I'm glad we've got all the confusion cleared up now Smile

Don't worry about it. Tbh, I'm still a bit stumped...I double checked both links and they look different but lead to the same product Confused . Maybe Boots ran out of the spray or something. The site where I buy my hair oil did that once and my friend and I had a great time trying to work it all out Razz !

just one thing I was wondering I know I'm gonna sound stupid lol.

But what is the snake oil really for?

is it to smooth out the skin and reduce irritation on the face and body?

Thought I might ask if anyone knows if it really works by experience and testing, rather than looking up on the net.

somtimes I hate buying stuff online and finding out it's only to be cheap and worthless shit that are over priced.
