I've never been charged customs duties. I only ever get one at a time, and they come in an envelope, which doesn't have a customs label (as far as I remember).

I have tumble dried mine and they have survived. Only for a couple of minutes though, they don't take long to dry. Obviously I might just have been lucky (or the driers are crap).

I never had a problem ordering just one at a time either - it was when I had a few arriving together that it became a problem.
