I have heard of a few trans people that like to refer to themselves as a tranny. I don't think there is anything wrong with that as long as they don't assume all trans people like being called tranny and respect what other people prefer to be called. I imagine that some black people probably really dislike being called the n word, even by other black people. If I have to talk about myself to people I use the term trans. I feel comfotable with that term. _________________ Chrissy

never gonna happen unless you produce it yerself _________________ Man [...] must count no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth." any term that ends in Y or IE is usually offensive
JUST think about it
even terms like Black that are accepted as PC add Y
BLACKY
PAKY - PAKI
TRANNY - IE
I mean imagine someone shouting
JEWY
LESSIE
JESSIE
Spazzy - Spastics Society - Now Scope - changed partly due to that abusive history in name calling
etc
it often mocks and tears apart serious terms into an infantile playschool bullying context
TRANNY TRANNY TRANNY SPAMMY SPAMMY SPAMMY
and lets face it most people who use these term have not long left the playground anyway
when i was at school there was Joey Deacon a disabled person that assisted blue peter in disability awareness - long before the PC brigade even existed
kids on the playground would call people who today would be described as special needs - as JOEYS JOEY JOEY JOEY
SPAMMY
Tranny falls into the same poisonous context im afraid
abuse has to be easy to say and remember especially when drunk when violence and damage to personal property often accompanies it _________________ Man [...] must count no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth." It usually indicates the diminuitive case - the lesser and familiar - which is why it has been used more often in the contraction of female names, than in male ones.

I never got tranny or spammy at school lol, no one seemed to know what one was(and I'm only away from school just over a year!). I did get 'mascara boy' though but the later response to that was "They're natural, bitches". It was rather insulting since they are bloody real....must speak to my psychologist about this ! _________________ Hellfrozeover be a pirate and a Transgenderzone moderator.
I don't stand under the TG umbrella anymore, it's way too bitchy and crowded in there but it's sunny out here

"Eh Cake boy, I cut your face, unnerstan?"
"Wha are you, ma fren, you are not man, you are not vooman, you are cake boy, I tell you now, no pinky no perky..."

Cake boy? Wtf is that lol? I can honestly say I've never heard of that one! You must have had a good laugh at their expense at the end of the day for being so bloody stupid! _________________ Hellfrozeover be a pirate and a Transgenderzone moderator.

Till they tread on your head. I've had enough problems in Brixton as a non-trans person and that was only passing through.

ROFL Dave
Han79, is it Hannah or Alyx? I think I'm a bit behind with what ur correct name is :/ Anyway, no I've just passed through a few times, clubbing in fact. It was lucky there were more of us than them, though they were clearly the more dangerous our group is a pretty amenable bunch Although you are more likely to get ripped off than assaulted in my limited experience, Brixton is one of the last places I'd chose to go as a visible trans person.

I have been to Brixton once myself for a day, doing a job painting lines in a warehouse. I went off at lunchtime to find a local shop to get something to eat from. I took the van and parked it near a local convenience corner shop. There was a row of black fellows sat side by side along a nearby garden wall, I remember feeling very uneasy at the way they were staring at me. I made sure I locked the van and went into the shop.
Inside the shop I had never seen anything like it. There were rows of shelves with empty tins of food on them, anything of any value (which the owner deemed was virtually everything in the shop) was behind the counter which resembled that of a high street bank, there was a small hatch were you could give the teller an empty tin and he would get a full tin for you from behind the counter, once you had paid of course. I had seen shops in rough parts of Bristol before that had these bank style counters in them but I never saw a shop in which they were that worried about you stealing a tin of beans, lol.
It was an experience I will never forget and I actually felt a little surprised the van was still there when I got back outside given what I just saw inside the shop. _________________ Chrissy
