Good news, Herb.
Incidentally, is your avatar one of Charles Bell's marbles? _________________ The Daily Turnout - King of the Throne Room

So today I went to sign on after the farcical way my last temp job ended. I noticed on their paperwork that I was titled "miss", in big capital letters. Obviously *not* a mistake, although I declined to point it out to them. Given that I have made no solid effort to assert my gender there, I was a little surprised at this though. _________________ The boobs are just a set of metaphors.

I managed to ask gran about that "beautiful" comment she made, and it seems it was just her mis-translating in her head. She didn't even start learning English until her early 40s after all.
Also, less than 2 weeks before I move out from mum's! Freedom!
In the meantime, I've been moved into the can't-sleep-properly-in-it bedroom because of a new houseguest, and it's having the obvious effect on my sleep patterns. _________________ The boobs are just a set of metaphors.

It looks like my pet cat, a spry old gent of 16 summers, may not see another summer. He has a tumour behind one ear, about the size of a ping-pong ball. Chances are that he will have to be put down some time before the end of the year _________________ The boobs are just a set of metaphors.

Just so I can't back out, I'm announcing now that tomorrow will e my first time out in public trying t pass myself off as a girl (as opposed to just a guy with a weird dress sense).
The rough plan is to travel across London to a trans support group, then probably enjoy a drink afterwards. Depending on how good my 1337 makeup skillz are, I may travel out earlier and do some more clothes shopping.
Pictures to follow (hopefully). _________________ The boobs are just a set of metaphors.

Well, that evening went well. Moving on...
I sliced my face open while shaving yesterday morning, right on the front of my chin. Obvious as the nose on my face, possibly more so. And I know from past experience that when I get a cut, it takes almost forever to heal. This doesn't even look good in boymode.
Did I ever mention than within weeks of face hair growing in full force for the first time, I started looking at permanent solutions to it, which, money permitting (it never really did, still doesn't really, but I need to do it more than ever now)? I never liked the idea of putting sharp objects next to my face and neck. It strikes me as inviting trouble. _________________ The boobs are just a set of metaphors.

sorry to hear about your shaving accident herb, perhaps a decent concealer and a touch of foundation can disguise it,at least a bit.

Major emotional roller-coaster week.
On Monday, I came out to my sister, and she was absolutely awesome about it. I couldn't have thought up a better response if I tried. Only reason we aren't going clothes shopping is lack of money on my part.
Then on Tuesday, I took my pet cat to the vet to have him put down. He was 16 years old, dying of cancer. he had a huge lump behind one ear, about the size of a golf ball (first appeared around Christmas last year, much smaller then). Lately, we'd noticed smaller lumps appearing all over his body; the cancer was metastasising. And it was becoming apparent that it was affecting his throat. I think it hurt so much to eat that he more or less stopped eating, and he was losing weight fast.
I remember when he first adopted us. He came to our back door one day, started meowing, and would not leave for anything. It was as if he said, "You're my new owner, like it or not, and I want you to feed me, starting yesterday." We couldn't refuse a demand like that.
And I remember when having dinner, if it was chicken, he would always smell it, no matter where in the house he was, and come running, and beg for scraps at the table. I think he usually ate more chicken than I did those days.
And some nights, I would go to bed to find him already curled up upon it, and having to find a way to climb in without disturbing him. Sometimes he would stay there all night, sometimes he would hop from one bed to another during the night.
I will miss him. RIP. _________________ The boobs are just a set of metaphors.

Congratulations Herb. I've not known you long... (well, I've known of you but we weren't really friends), but recently you've become a great friend. I can only wish you the best of everything.
And if you're reading this Michelle... you best look after her.
