Yay a new forum Very Happy which means a new blog too Very Happy .

Hehe, it's my first post on this forum and nothing exciting has really happened to tell of, lol. One of the guys in work noticed the other day that I had my picture in one of the local newspapers. I regularly watch my local boys Bristol Rovers on a saturday and in the paper there was a picture of a section of the crowd and I was spotted. I have appeared quite a few times before in newspapers when pictures of the crowd has been taken at the games but what made my day was what another of my colleagues said to me when I showed him the picture.
I showed him the picture and asked him if he could spot me and he was struggling a little so I pointed myself out to him and he said "If you hadn't told me that was you I would have thought that was a girl there in that picture". I havn't come out yet so to speak at work and only a few people there know I'm trans and as he is one of the guys that doesn't know so I was really happy that he thought that. It's the little things like that which make my day although to be honest I don't think I really look feminie at all without makeup on but some of the comments I have had recently are slowly making me think that perhaps I am getting a little more feminine looking Very Happy .

You look almost exactly like a woman that used to come in the shop I used to work at in that photo.

It's been a while since I've seen you, Chrissy, and I must say your hair is coming along nicely. You certainly look like a girl in that photo.

Thanks for all your kind words Very Happy , they do mean a lot to me but you must forgive me for my own attitude towards myself as quite often I don't see that I'm getting any more feminine looking at all. I think I might post some piccy's soon in the before and after blog if I can find any that show a substantial difference, lol. I just find self confidence hard to come by. I like giving confidence and help to other people but I just can't seem to effect myself. It is so good to have Skyler in my life though even if he lives on the other side of the Atlantic ocean, he is such a loving and supportive guy and I'm sure since knowing him my confidence has improved and I am generally much more happy and optimistic about the future. Life does seem much more worthwhile now, perhaps I'm getting my second wind in life, lol.

I am planning telling my superiors at work about being trans soon. Recently I spoke with one of the union shop stewards about my plans, we have a good union where I work and they are quite good at fighting for our rights as workers. The conversation I had with the union guy did go quite well. I am still trying to think of the best way to tell my superiors at work, I guess I'd better do it fairly soon as I have been taking hormones since beginning of december last year and things will start showing at some point, lol. I'm mainly concerned about keeping my job, I know it's unlikely that I'd lose it but it worries me when you hear about people losing their jobs after coming out at work. I already get a lot of friendly banter at work at the moment as most people there think I'm gay but I'd say I'm pretty well liked by everyone.

Hi Chrissy

I didn't have to do this, though, strangely enough, one of the first guys I came out to was my ex-line manager when I had my first shot at it in my late twenties. He was cool as you like. I won't be surprised if the management are waiting for you to make a move.

It looks like most of your colleagues know everything and, pardon a mischievous comment, I'll bet someone's running a sweepstake on when the big day's going to be... Embarassed

I doubt your employment is under threat. It's very much your nature that you don't have to try to be liked. Your good nature shines through from first acquaintance. Anyone who can cheer their colleagues is worth their weight in gold.

I've had to call meetings in boardrooms before to discuss difficult issues in the past. If you need someone to hold your hand, let me know. I'm only down the road.

Reenie xx

by the end of my fourth month there was no way to hide it anyhow. i dont know all the laws where you live but even in ohio (backward state) you would half a good lawsuit if they fired you. once you break the ice it becomes easier and easier. now all women near my size give me clothes and it is really cool. it is really kind of fun. i never leave my home without full make-up on. you may be surprised at how many people will commend you for your courage. maybe even your employer... you have the right stuff Smile. you will do fine.. i will be watching to see what you do... happy valentines day...

ps. if you need ideas just ask.. i would be honered to help

Awww thanks so much for your support Very Happy and a belated welcome to tzone as well Very Happy . I have had a great valentines day even though my love is so far away. He sent me a recording of a poem he recited for me and I find that just so sweet Very Happy .

I thought I'd post a couple of pictures of me here. I did plan on making a post in the before and after blog but I havn't any suitable before pictures yet, there are so few before pictures of me out there as I hated having pictures taken of me. These pictures are of me without makeup and personally I think I have a long way to go before I look how I want to. Skyler really likes them and so I thought I'd post them and see what you all think.

Smile

Smile 2

Tilted head

The camera was a bit shakey on the second one and I need to do something with my hair. Does anyone have any ideas?

You could always try something like Delta Goodrem or Yulia Volkova. Both grow out nicely as well. Your hair looks fine the way it is though imo Smile .

Thanks Smile but it does need something doing to it soon, it is getting a little messy.

I'm looking forward to meeting Wendy and Jess tomorow. I'm driving them to Bristol for the LGBT Speakeasy talk that is being held at Bristol City Council Conference Hall in College Green. The talk is a 'Question Time' style debate, discussing the different lives and experiences within the LGBT community. Terrence Higgins Trust, Equality South West & Bristol City Council’s Rainbow are providing the opportunity to debate a wide range of issues including health, ethnicity and age.

Also tomorow I am trying out some councelling over the telephone. I have never had any councelling before of any type and a friend recommended this councellor to me so I emailed her and she has offered me a free half an hour with no obligation tomorow. So I decided to accept her offer and I will see afterwards whether I want to carry on. I am quite intrigued to what her methods are but I doubt much can be accomplished in half an hour. It will be interesting though I'm sure.
