This is not my question, but on the German site www.ftm-portal.net there's a guy who wants to become a protestant, erm, priest (What do protestants call it? Pastor? It reminds me of that firebrand Pastor Jack Glass in Glasgow who definitely would not be into anything like this! Laughing ).

Anyway, this chap worries how the German protestant church will take it, or him. No, people here probably won't have the answer, but I wondered if anyone knows of eg the Anglican approach to this, or any other outfit of the more protestant variety? And I know, there is no such thing as 'the Anglican approach' to anything these days. Does anyone have any experience in these things?

(As an aside - church things have appeared in my dreams in such a degree that I wonder if I am headed in the same direction... Surprised )

Peter

Within the protestant communion there is a wide range of opinions and approaches, you need to carefully research which theological college you are thinking of approaching as generally speaking the higher the church ( closer to catholicism ) the less likely they are to be accepting of Trans people.
That said most low church protestants are theologically liberal and although they make a lot of noise the extremists are still in the minority. I know there is at least one trans ordained minister in the UK ( can't remember her name though I'm sure Stella or somebody else here will know ).
Hope this has been of some help Smile

Pastor Jack Glass! Unfortunately he passed away a couple of years before I arrived in Glasgow. I'd have loved to have seen him in action.
