sometimes i wake up a little while before dawn feeling extremely cold [ way past the shivering point] my blankets are still on the bed and now i keep my sleepig bag at the side of the bed so i can drag it on top as well, i noticed one morning that my pulse was around the 40 mark. Shocked has anyone else encountered this problem ?.

are you tired in the day at all? particularly first thing and in the early afternoon? been putting weight on? feeling low or flat?

low basal body tempreture *could* be an indication that something is squiffy with your thyroid function, so get that checked first (T4 and TSH readings).

of course, you're speaking to somebody who has been diagnosed hypothyroid, so i would suggest it's that Smile

What you're saying you have actually sounds quite normal.

-the coldest time of the day and night is just before dawn
-people's sensitivity to cold and heat changes depending on the time of day or night it is
-having a low pulse when you've been sleeping/resting is very normal - you're not doing enough to need to raise th pulse!
-the more active you are, the easier it is to maintain an adequate body temperature. Thus if you've been lying in bed for several hours, you are likely to feel cooler
