Hello and welcome to my first blog from Bristol. After 2 weeks of unpacking boxes and making IKEA furniture, the flat finally feels like home. Which means I have no more excuses not to find a job, argh!
My friend got married last week and to everyone's surprise wedding went well. I got to be a bridesmaid which was fun and despite missing his flight Mole played the guitar at the wedding and received many compliments about his musical abilities. Here's a picture of us at the reception: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a325/thedreadpersephone/MeMike2.jpg

I don't stand under the TG umbrella anymore, it's way too bitchy and crowded in there but it's sunny out here

Aw thanks. I put some expensive stuff in that I bought in a moment of madness. It makes it flat and not bushy. The other bridesmaids went and had their hair 'done' or put it up themselves but mine's too short just now to do much with. Anyway the amount of hairspray they were using.... *shudders*

There was a Great Floude - some say a tsunami - in the Bristol Channel in 1607 - so perhaps it will make a re-appearance for its fourth cententary!

Wow, Dread, Mole you look great! And happy, too. Dread, you're just beautiful.
What is Mole wearing? Is it that famous Scottish kilt? If yes, why?

Thanks everyone! Well not so much thanks for the flood warning, I thought I'd got away from all that...
Juz, Mole is wearing the famous Scottish kilt as you say. Weddings and football matches are pretty much the only time you see people wearing them these days. The groom and the bride's brother and father wore kilts too - although they hired theirs and Mole has his own. Although not Scottish, Mole has pretty much adopted Scotland as his home and the Scots seem to have taken to him too! Ideally you would wear your clan tartan, but of course Mole doesn't have a clan so he wears a tartan called the Spirit of Scotland which is nice and purple.
I tried to find a dentist today, only to discover that nothing is open on a Friday afternoon. These English are dead lazy. I was totally astonished to find that the massive Tesco closes at 4pm on Sundays. 4pm! Even the one in Wick is open later than that! Anyway so no hope of fixing my poor mouth until Monday at the earliest. I'll just have to take some Ibuprofen and tea to make it better. _________________ Check out the Tzone team bios (including mine!) at: http://www.transgenderzone.com/bio.htm

Shops closing at 4 PM? Come here Here they work till 9-10 PM, some of them 24 hours: food stores, and some video stores what kind of make sense, but only theoretically... Who'd want to run to a video store at like 2 AM, even if you're out of DVDs? Well, unless it's in your own house. I have the closest 24/7 video store in a minute walk from me, but as long as I have internet, I don't need anything else.
Thanks for the explanation about the kilt

Hi ,
I'm glad you have managed to unpack your things and I hope you are feeling a little more settled in your new place. It's a shame that you were still busy by last tuesday and couldn't come with Wendy, Jess and I to the LGBT SpeakEasy talk we went to, it was really quite good. Good luck in your job hunting and if there is anything I can do to help you both settle in living in Bristol then just let me know. A lot of supermarkets do close here at 4pm on sundays although there are several 24 hour ones too. _________________ Chrissy

Thanks for the welcome English people! I'm glad we have some wee hills protecting Bristol from tsunamis. I like the sea, but I'd rather not have to live in it. Unless I was a mermaid, now that would be fun. _________________ Check out the Tzone team bios (including mine!) at: http://www.transgenderzone.com/bio.htm

TDP and Mole could live there in SL LOL _________________ Man [...] must count no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth." I'd love that! I don't think Mole would be too keen though. Moles are land based creatures and not fond of the sea.
I've finally done something with the photos that I've been taking in the last 2 years since I got my digital camera. I uploaded nearly all of them to kodak and I'm getting them printed out. It cost over 20 quid, but there were 154 of them. Also I wanted doubles of some so that I could give Laura the ones I took at the wedding reception, hen night and new year when she came to visit us. Anyway it'll be worth it cos I love having the actual photos.
Also I made plans to meet up with another SO who lives in Bristol. Meeting new people terrifies me and it also means having to get out of bed before 10. Nevertheless I know I need to get out of the flat and do something. Plus it's always nice to meet people who know what it's all about, and there aren't very many of us willing to come out of the woodwork. _________________ Check out the Tzone team bios (including mine!) at: http://www.transgenderzone.com/bio.htm
