My avatar disappeared and when I tried to put it back, I found out there is no Download avatar from my machine option now.
Only Link to off-site avatar

Is it a glitch in my profile or did anything change and now all avatars should be hosted off-boards?

It's easy enough to upload it on www.imageshack.us
Just give that a go, Juzz and put the URL it gives you that says "direct link" into the place where it asks for it on the profile editing page

It is Freeforums.org messing around with the servers (again). Other boards have had the same problem, here's a link to there support forum:

I have my pics on photobucket, so it's not the technique itself, I know how to do it. I was just curious what happend to direct upload from the machine. We always had this option.
But as wild_flower says, it's the server again (thanks for the link). *scratches the head* happens quite often now.

Yeah, the T-Zone server is crap. I'll admit that it was better than the last one, but it's still a joke, when you consider that you never get this with the vast majority of bbservers, even the free ones.
The admins must have really hunted around and carefully selected one that is below average Razz

I'm speculating here, but i guess T-zone chose these is because they cost nothing and they are ad free.
To be fair to Freeforums, they have only been going a few months and i think demand has outstriped bandwidth, hence the problems last weekend, and for most of this week. They were trying to set up some new servers but it went a bit pear shaped.
The forums are going down again at 9pm PST, or 5am BST, they say it is going to be offline for 30mins to 1 hour Laughing

I have to say, the forums are working very quickly this morning (to be honest, i thought that they might not be working at all. Thought was wrong though Smile
