Depends on what they're paying you. If it's minimum wage, sod it: move on. If it's £70 per hour, stick with it for a couple of months.

So it seems my diet is going well. Ridiculously well. In terms of waist and hip numbers, I'm pretty much the perfect model for a size 12. Considering my body mass index is still well inside the healthy range, and my waist-hip ratio is a fraction under 0.75 (i.e. good even by natal female standards), I am puzzled. Short of a genetic anomaly, I really can't see how I should be able to have reached this point.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

I have a little list...

Well, checklist. It's from West London Mental Health. It seems the paperwork is finally moving. Smile

Sadly, things aren't moving on the "financial independence from mother" front, which is just as essential Sad

I think I may have found a place to live away from mum. It still depends on a few things falling into place, but it may just be what the doctor ordered Smile

Hope it works out for you, moving out of your parents is fab; although can be scary and definitely costly XD

New temp job starting today - yay!

Didn't get that place to rent I was hoping to - Sad

Swings and roundabouts, it is.

Mum has invited a 2nd cousin (half) 3 times removed, or something like that anyway, to stay in the house with no time limit specified. Could be months.

More roundabout than swing, these days, it seems Sad

I'm not sure if it was insanity or boredom or simple frustration at life, but I spent most of this morning plucking beard hair out. one at a time. With tweezers.

It was strangely therapeutic.

Boredom has much to do with it, so I've found. Then there's always that irritating one that the razor didn't get. And the one next to it...

Yes, it's therapeutic.

Very Happy

"This beautiful face looking like nice girl".

Those were my nanna's words to me as she was leaving the house this afternoon.

Now, her English is far from perfect - she didn't start learning it till her mid-thirties. And it is possible she didn't say what she meant to say. But, taken at face value, that does suggest that she is at the least aware that i am trying to appear more feminine. I know I haven't told her, and I can't imagine mum (the only family member I've told so far) telling her.

I'm not sure what to make of this.

Also in the news... sis noticed some changes, but other than the longer hair (which she accused me of having curled; nope, it is naturally wavy) and me pointing out that I had shrunk 2 1/2 inches since I first left for Japan 6 years ago, couldn't or wouldn't point to anything specific.

It appears the temp job I'm currently on, which has been going for about a month now, may continue for up to two more months.

This is actually mildly disappointing. I wanted it to end in the next 2-3 weeks. That way, i could move out from mum's before this distant cousin thrice removed arrives to cramp my style.

So this last month and a half, i've been working in a telephone call centre. It's hard on the voice, but it's the most awesome voice practice job you could ever hope for.

Except late in the afternoons, when my voice gets tired, and I lose the energy to try at a girl voice.

Except today...

I was just doing an ordinary "supposedly guy" voice, and I was still getting "miss, darling, love" and the like from guys (I expect it as standard from old ladies, regardless). I think I may have internalised feminine intonation to the extent that my deeper pitch didn't get read as male.

Made me feel awesome.
