just wandering on peoples opinions of the various ones available, from the whole gameboy series, inc ds/lite, to psp n any others people want to mention. please dispute any comments i make as i want a healthy debate

personally i find the psp is great for those boring lessons when you can load up a film youve put on it n sit watching that under the desk.

the ds lite (n ds technically but lite does it so much better) is just amazing with how its created a whole new method of interaction. i still cant get over the joy of blowing on my console to blow bubbles at my pet dog!

the old game gear i felt was amazing, far better than the early game boys even though it was older than many of them. with a properly lit screen so it could even be played in the dark, unlike many early colour games systems.

many of the gameboys have been fun, i loved my pocket for the games available just blew me away at teh time. though ive only owned pocket n now ds lite.


heh ive just got myself a second dslite so i can run games in japanese on one n my ds japenese-english dictionary on the other, luckily it comes with a usb charger free of charge so i can avoid the 110-240v issue.

i loved the game gear. gameboy was okay although apart from mario games i found it pretty tedious. UNTIL pokemon red and blue game along, then it was brilliant.

the psp is a bit shit in my opinion, it's too boring. i have a playstation at home and if i want to play with it i will, i'm not so keen on it that i want it shrunk down to carry around.

the ds however is a whole new experience and it's fantastic, and because i prefer nintendo in general they'll always win over sony in the handhelds.

i dont own a psp for the same reason, any games i want i have on my playstation, but i play on my friends when round his house.

yeh all i had was 2 mario games, gamboy camera and pokemon blue, but i loved it anyway.

i have 9 english, 2 japanese games and 1 japanese dictionary for my ds already n ive only had it a few months

I recently picked up Crystal Chronicles on the DS from Japan. I love it to bits. I have to say as a developer i love the DS for the sheer amount of interesting games you can make reality on it =D

PSP was an ok console, i think they tried to make too much of a powerful machine in a handheld and missed the idea completely. Most PSP owners i know sit by a plug socket playing their consoles which isn't what i consider a handheld

But anyway both consoles have their weaknesses and plusses. Just depends what kind of things you like playing =D
