I have visited many web sites in the last year or so on line that sell HRT, and it seems some are recommending dosage levels way above what I was prescribed by my psych.

I was prescribed 1mg Estradiol twice daily and 50mg of Andracur, this dosage was kept up to this week, when on my request due to male arousal difficulties resurfing, my Andracur was raised to 100mg twice daily. This seems to be giving me very good results already, and I would hope that my dosage will rise to 4mg Estradiol and aprox 400mg Andracur by the Autumn.

I was assured by my psychiatrist's office that it's best to start low to get your system used to the new hormones in the blood stream. Then building it up gradually over a period of 12 -18 months.

I'd like some feedback on this, thank you.

I'm no expert on the matter, but I think that if you're on anti-androgens, or have had SRS, then they reduce the dose of estrogen anyway because it doesnt have to do battle with the testosterone before it starts working.
The general thing which I hear though is that more does not mean better and taking higher doses will not help matters, except you are developing PMS type symptoms.
I say again, I am not an expert. The best thing that could come out of me typing this is that I'm saving somebody more knowledgeable the bother of typing all this again Razz

Well, i am taking 50mg androcur and 4mg progynova split into two doses (i'm self medding).
From what i have read taking 400mg of androcur is excessive and could damage your liver. There is a guide right here on tzone about dosages, here's the link:

i hope that helps a little Smile

I think anything over 200mg as far as androcur goes is a bit much. Sometimes even 100mg can be a bit dodgy. 200mg is one of the doses given to treat prostate cancer.

I don't stand under the TG umbrella anymore, it's way too bitchy and crowded in there but it's sunny out here Smile
