Well, if you want to get technical...
I am not male. Nor am I female. I am a person.
By strangers I am sometimes called 'he' and I am sometimes called 'she' and I am happy either way, because what matters most is that I am a person. I am not a set of genitals or a pair of boobs.
I am a person. _________________ Teenager. FTM gender dysphoric 'transgender tomboy'

gender fluid is a good word, as is gender variant. i use that one a lot to cover all sorts of non traditional gender identies _________________ Moderator

i'll also admit.... i get annoyed with other transsexual folk who, when speaking to them, continually ask me, 'oh, so-and-so is MtF / FtM then' and won't simply accept that i'm giving them *all* the information they need by saying 'so-and-so is a transwoman / transman'. plus, hello, even if you're transsexual i feel awkward outing people to you. it's not any of our business, tranniehood or no.
however, nowadays i do my best to not use gender to describe myself or other people at all. |
Pretty much agree with all of this - I am just Claudia at the end of the day. I'd like to think of myself as a woman who was less fortunate than most by having the wrong reproductive organs, (which most people attribute to being a man or woman which is WRONG!!!) and from that, my psyche developed a male side more strongly than the vast majority of women due to my upbringing. _________________ It's never too late to be who you might have been. - Mary Ann Evans

MtF TS I'm just lucky nobody cares as long as I'm very careful who I tell about it, but as far as I know I'm a girl and people see me that way without question. _________________ Misery is my company, why do I stand out from the rest of the people around me.

severly intersexed male.
transsexual is misleading, it implies that you have to be moving across the sexes to be TS.
i hate the term "female to male" with a passion as i was never female and i will never be whether i stick a needle in my butt or not.
my primary sex characteristic (my brain!) cannot be changed.
...and i was born a boy. _________________ "...risk something, take back whats yours, say something that you know they might attack you for..."

Isn't that the definition of transsexual though? Someone alterting their body so it is the other sex? I thought perhaps that was why or part of why "transgender" came into such wide use, so as to not exclude those who are no-ho/non-op.

And for the record I may use the word transsexual when having to deal with, say, doctors who have a need to know what my body's going through (or why they should write me a perscription for T LOL)
Or explaining to people who knew the "old me" (who wasn't truly me but you know)
But I do not think of "transsexual man" as some part of my identity.
I don't deny how people saw me (and some continue to see me)
But whatever my parents and others thought, they were incorrect, I was always a boy whether anyone else was aware of it or not.
I would say I'm a pretty ordinary man, just happened to have been born with a birth defect. Which at the moment results in a severe case of gynecomastia and odd genitalia. Once surgery takes care of that, my birth defect will be just a memory.

Exactly, so people who say "God made you such and such so you should stay that way" are misled - since to them genitals define gender, but in fact, using the logic of religion, god made you a male, just as he made me a female, but simply physically different to most. _________________ It's never too late to be who you might have been. - Mary Ann Evans
