Hi all,
Im Sam, born into a male body but have not felt as such ever really, never considered myself to be a man a hate being called as such .
For ages i just suppressed this (by ages i mean since about year 11, im half way through 1st year uni atm, so around 3 1/2 years) with the hopes that it would all sort itself out, like some sort of phase as my dad would put it. I did this as not to become estranged from my parents or friends back home, but after talking to uni friends they are telling me it isn't as bad to be this way as i once thought.
So ive been thinking the whole thing over and over for months, the possibility of me changing how i am outside to how i feel inside and have gotten to the stage of telling my home friends and asking how they would feel about me. They all said nothing between us would change, which destroyed that barrier for me, which was great! After this i even went as far to tell my mum, who was very supportive about my whole childhood and everything and she said if it made me happy she would support me all the way.
I have started making the 1st steps to changing such as makeup, changing my wardrobe a bit (all my trousers were female anyway, not built for mens trousers ) and i've begun to feel a lot happier. Ive stopped drinking a lot. I used to drink way more than an even an 18 year old at uni should drink and have finished the course of Prozac i was on from the doctors without depression returning.
So, in short, thats my story!
I didn't mean to write all that just to rant somewhere, i didn't quite know where to say hi, lol.
Also, thought id add, it hasn't all been uphill as it might seem, i have received some comments about how i shouldn't change, for example the doctor i saw recently, basically said my life would be easier if i didn't do this and just tried to be gay. Of course this isn't one of the worst outcomes of all this, but i won't bore those of you reading this any longer!
Sammy out!

Hi Sam, welcome to tzone.
There's some familiar stuff in your story. I'd give that doctor a finger-wagging, though...

Hi Sam and welcome to tzone.
Most people introduce themselves in the social chit chat section but here is fine too.
It's great news that your friends and mum are being supportive . I'm sure that's a great boost for you.

Sexual preference and gender are two seperate things and it's common for some people even some doctors to not realise that. There are quite a few GP's that have very little knowledge of transsexualism and Gender Identity Disorder.
And by the way don't worry about boring us, write as much or as little as you want. I don't think your post was boring at all._________________ Chrissy

Hey all!
Thanks for welcoming me in!
I agree about the doctor, she wasn't nice, tried to use my height against me, saying i wouldn't find any shoes.
Also I'm surprised about how fast you all responded!
Thank you all
Now I'm going through the process of finding a recent picture of me for an avatar

I can wear 9's and 10's comfortably but not for everyday stuff, i get sores over time otherwise.

I normally wear size 11/12 bloke shoes ;'( however because they are wide I can wear Evan Size 10 shoes happily definately worth consideration.
Size 10s are only avaliable on their website, however the shops do keep 2 or 3 styles that large in the shops
BTW im a local I live near Fareham (although I have a scum postcode)

Also, Fareham you say! Haven't actually spoken to any people like me before! Although i suppose perhaps i have but i didn't know?
Im curious as well, what do you mean by a scum postcode? Haven't really heard that expression before

I can get away with an Evans size less than my blokes' footwear. Evans size 10 is just a shade too large.
I have a pair of builders' boots size 11. Leather and fur lined with steel toe caps. I get the odd arsehole hurl something transphobic at me but always from the middle distance. Too far to give a positive ID. Wonder why?
