It doesn't sound like your mom's being too supportive here, but I'm not too sure what your whole situation with your mom is like, so I can't really give any advice here.

Are you still legally a minor, and that's why your mom has to play such a large role in all this?

close, legal guardian I'm 20 but she went to court and won guardian ship I was my own guardian for about little over a year

she doesn't have to play a big role but I'd like her to at least understand I'm not just my ocd or at least consider the possibility.She said she'd let me have the surgery if I had the chance though.

the problem is we do not have access to your private medical details and history

but in the UK even those who are used to be considered as quite mentally ill can lead 'supported' independent lives

they are still the boss and often the payer - thanks to the Disability Discrimination Act and personal assistants

i cant speak for the US set up but it seems you are indeed articulate and clear thinking here

so maybe this is something you need to challenge
