When The Wind Blows. I think it has to be the most realistic film about what happens just before and after nuclear war that i have seen, even though it's an animation. Very very sad on so many different levels. _________________ Out out!! You demons of stupidity!! - Saint Dogbert

I watched the film Frequency last night on tele. Its one of my fave films. Its similar to the Butterfly Effect in ways. I love it.
I got some dvds from Blockbuster the other night on a 7 night loan. Ive watched 2 of them and im watchin the 3rd on thur night. The 2 I watched were:
X-Men: The last stand
Good film, good effects. I love the cartoon of it and have some comics of it too. So I had to watch the films.
The Black Dhala (if thats how you spell it, I cant remember if thats the correct word or not )
I wanted to watch this when it was in the cinema but as always I never got round to it. It wasnt as good as I expected, slightly slow in places. I dont think it concentrates on the actual focus of the film alot, which is obv the murder. Its more about the 2 police men and their careers and love lives than anythin. Id say an OK film but not 1 to rush out n rent.
The other one ive got to watch is called Shadow boxer with Helen Mirren and Cuba Gooding Jnr. I thought that to be an unlikely mix but havin seen a trailer for it thought it looked good. We shall see.

I actually really liked Ghost Rider (except the horrible, horrible, horrible casting choices in both Nicholas Cage (I am not a fan) and his love interest - she was terrible) but the CGI was AMAZING. I am a CGI nerd and I can't get enough and Ghost Rider was pretty much a wet dream.
X-Men, again, loved it. They did introduce way too many characters and didn't spend enough time on them (plus they lost Nightcrawler - which I am told you find out what happens to him in the game, but not in the movie and he was my favourite character in the movies). It could have done with an extra few hours of footage, but hey, as long as they spend more time on Angel in the next one, I'll be happy.
I haven't seen the others you mentioned.
I saw Little Miss Sunshine just the other day and usually I am not one for comedies, but hell, that movie I thought was hillarious. I was in hysterics for nearly ten minutes straight at one stage, which never happens.
I also saw Silent Hill, which I thought was pretty good for the first hour, but then I should have turned it off.
And I watched Equilibrium (with Christian Bale) which a friend of mine reccomended after I mentioned I enjoyed Ultra Violet (with Milla Jovovich) so much, and that is also one heck of a good film.
And I can't wait to see Shrek the Third. _________________ Every body is a book of blood;

I love Equilibrium. Ive seen it a few times. Sort of Matrixy in ways.
Silent Hill for some reason is a film ive never really fancied. Nor the game either.

Watched a dvd a night for the last 3 nights.
Shadow boxer
This was a good film, nothin special tho. Had Helen Mirren, Cuba Gooding Jnr and Stephen Dorf (or stefan or stephen..wotever ) in. Was ok to watch, reasonable if somewhat unreal story for those actors. All in all not bad. I was suprised to see a full frontal of Stephen Dorf even wearin a condom Didnt think actors got their bits out on film. Seems a new trend as ive seen a few well known actors gettin it all out lately
Hostel 2
Not in the pics yet but ive got it on dvd. I loved the first one so I had to watch the 2nd. Was very similar in ways but different in others. Still a brill film. Not as scary as first one. Deffo one to watch if you liked the first.
Vacancy
Again not out in the pics yet, think its out next week. This was a brill film. I was scared, ill admit it I thought to myself ooh im not stayin in a hotel/motel type thing ever again One to watch if you like a bit of a scary film. Mind you, to most its prob not scary. My sister didnt think it was scary

I hated the first Hostel but I heard that number 2 is funny? Is that true? It definately sounds better than the first one (which in my oppinion was 98% porn and 2% gore)... not nearly enough gore.
And "not as scary as the first one"? Really? I didn't think the first was was a bit scary.
Do you like scary movies? Have you seen the Descent? _________________ Every body is a book of blood;

Hostel 2 is funny in bits. Not intentionally comedy tho, more a sense of irony. I know the first one aint 'scary scary' I meant more a sense of gore and stuff. Whereas the 2nd one isnt that gory really. It carries on from the last one, showin the bloke who escaped. But he isnt in the whole film, only the first 10 mins. You'll be pleased to know there is no sex in it at all
My sister has lent me the descent a few times but ive never actually got round to watchin it. Is it a good film then?

I saw Worlds Fastest Indian yes I'd agree it was a good film and I don't like motorcycles or racing either.
I rented out Breakfast On Pluto ages ago but was so busy I didn't get to watch it, hmmmm I think I'd better rent it out again now. _________________ Chrissy

BOP is good - opening score sugar baby love rules with her pushing the pram =)))) _________________ Man [...] must count no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth." The Descent is only good for the second half. The first half could have easily been cut. If you can sit through the long build up, and long and tedious it is, then the second half is terrific. Very scary - people were screaming in the cinema when I saw it, it was awesome.
Breakfast on Pluto is one of the best films I have ever seen. How can you go wrong with Cillian Murphy and Neil Jordan? And that duet with Cillian Murphy and Gavin Friday - gold!!!
Has anyone seen Shrek the Third yet? What did you think? _________________ Every body is a book of blood;
