I got Warhammer: AOR this week, is it a WOW buster I'm not so sure because it needs a high-ish end computer to run smoothly and seems complex in some of the reward systems but it's still very good, very enjoyable so I'll stick with it

let me know how it turns out. I'm not worried about system specs, but I really would like to know how it plays, since they seem unwilling to release a free trial.

What have I been playing? Blasted my way through Rainbow six Vegas 1 and 2, nice fun games without being too caught up in being realistic (unless special forces operatives really can regenerate their health in a few seconds now?) and I've been playing more Company of heroes (wish they just stuck to infantry combat, tanks just skew the game too far and it's really difficult for me to maneouvre my tanks whilst watching my infantry get cut up by EVERYTHING IN THE GAME EVEN ANTI TANK GUNS unless they're behind 8 different kinds of cover and so pretty useless at actually hitting anything. That said when you just get infantry to use they're pretty versatile, but tanks are so expensive and slow you spend all your time trying to protect them Sad )

Besides that, I've been getting destroyed at supreme commander, given how monumentally fail that games single player campaign is at even teaching you the basics you need to know in multiplayer. Oh, and I've been playing the Witcher: Enhanced. Awesome RPG.

yeah, most people struggle with drums, but i play drums anyways and have been for 7 years, so i find that hard and expert levels are easier as they are more like the real drumbeats... except for run to the hills, that song owns me every time. i'm gettin pretty decent on the guitar and bass on hard too, yet certain songs kick my arse like green grass and high tides.
i know its naff the second one is out so soon, i only bought it bout 2 weeks ago, but this one is gunna have AC/DC on, so it aint all bad

The GES Biorifle? I'm not so keen on that one - I tend to walk across my own goo just as it explodes, lol. Sniper rifle's excellent on Capture the Flag or Assault missions, if you can find a good place to sit. Shame it doesn't have the capacity for more ammo. Sad
Rocket launcher on "alternate fire" can be bounced around corners, that's quite useful if you're a big lily-livered coward like me!

If I get bored I tend to fall back on the old "summon" trick to get myself a Redeemer or two to play with. Very Happy Mind you, it obscures half the screen and there's been the odd few times that I've accidentally pointed it too low and vapourised myself... Embarassed

I've yet to attempt any fancy tricks like 'hammer jumping', so maybe that should be first on my list when the new games arrive.

I've been playing Fallout 3 far too much. =\ Maybe it's just me, but it can get quite scary sometimes too. I love it though!

Did anyone else hear or see the report by some psychiatrist about youngsters showing addictive behaviour over World of Warcraft. It strikes me as a case of statistics being manipulated to make a news story, out of a population of 11million there are bound to be some demonstrating addictive tendencies, after all there are lots of people who show this in other hobbies.
Until this evening when I took home and installed WOTLK and couldn't get on my server presumably because there are loads of 12 year olds desperately trying to get from level70 to 80 Laughing

I read about this report through the BBC... it didn't sound like statistical manipulation to me, given they admitted that the vast majority wouldn't suffer any 'addiction' and that playing online is actually a viable social outlet... something that can be a challenge to get any journalists to admit.
