Just got back my blood test results for my estrogen/ testosterone levels, and I'm not sure exactly what they mean.

It says my estrodiol is 170 and my testosterone is 8

It's means your a woman.

The female hormone is far stronger than the male.

Good news really.

i'm no expert, but your testosterone sounds high (although you're happily below the low end of the normal male range) and your estrogen sounds low (i think, anyway). are you on any androgen-blockers / GnRH antagonists? and what dose of E are you on, and how long have you been on it?

additionally, and more importantly, how do you *feel* at the moment?

I'm not on any anti-androgens yet (am going to talk to Dr Curtis about them in a couple of weeks), I am on 100mcg of estraderm tts twice weekly via a patch. On the plus side i feel good, i have a little visible breast growth, my skin is much softer etc. I have been on hormones since the begining of january.

the testosterone is high, for a girl but 9 is the lowest a male's should be. Or at least that was what my GP told me. And she went all psycho at me when mine was 4.9 and accused me of self medicating. lol.

6-8 is Female average I was told. I was 16 pre-blockers but that's gone now Smile .

the site ate my reply D:

as best as I can remember it was:

is that free or total testosterone? Because as I said, when I got a reading of 4.9 free, my GP didn't like it at all. Female is supposed to be 1, or less than 3 max, according to her, and the person she rang at the hospital to check.

I read that for women free testosterone should be 0.5-4, and men it should be 9-30.

And just found out that estradiol in men shouldn't exceed about 80, and in women obviously it varies during the month, but could be anywhere from 80-400, so my result of 170 seems fairly safely female, and my testosterone is about right too i guess since i'm not on anti-angrodens yet.

Hmm I heard Testosterone levels for men should be around 20-100, although perhaps it is a different method of measuring.
