Everyone that needs it tends to have their own recipes, and brands are always subject to fashion.
Many find ordinary concealer sticks sufficient and affordable, but others swear by branded products like Dermablend which you'll find advertised here:
http://www.skinstore.co.uk/Dermablend
As you'll see, there's a serious risk of a plastering trowel effect here, and no easy way round it but moderation and compromise.
For my own part, I don't use cosmetics of any kind, but others who feel the need to will be able to give you far more detail than this first bare bones account.

as far as wigs go i get mine from www.wigsworld.co.uk.the wigs are sold at wholesale prices and are excellent quality.i wear sythetic wigs and they just look like real hair.it just depends how much you want to spend.
next do wide fitting shoes up to a size nine-www.next.co.uk.i can also recomend long tall sally and evans for larger sized shoes.
charles fox in london do stage makeup and they have good tv sticks to cover up the beard area and are friendly to transgendered people. the best thing however is to think about laser treatment or electrolysis.it is best to have as much of this done as possible prior to transition as it's difficult to have electrolysis if you are full time because the hair needs to be visible.

Hi advice regarding foundation apart from laser and electrolosis being a must and top of the financial priorities here investing in a good concealer and colour matched foundation does wonders I would recommend clinique as I have found their total cover foundation perfect colour match and their air brush perfect for lightening up dark circkles and any difficult skin pigmanted area due to hair folicles. The girls are always really friendly and if you can copse your daughter into going with you to see one of them in a boots or a debanhams im sure they will be able to help you and advice a good skin care range. other Trans people i know prefer brands such as MAC due to the coverage of one of their foundation products its basically have a lok round and see what she likes with your advice of course. I always think a good foundation is worth investing in lasts a long time and a perfect base for everything else.

I thought this book (MOM, I NEED TO BE A GIRL by Just Evelyn) might help you understand another mother's experience in providing support to a loved one in transition.
It is available for viewing for free on Lynn Conway's web site

I have heard un-namously that home laser and electrolysis kits do not work for facial hair. Aparantly they have to be very big and bulky things that cost a fortune. It's why IPL is so expensive for transwomen _________________ I look back at most of my life and think "WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!??"

The difference between a laser/IPL dose that is sufficient to permanently destroy hair follicles, and one which will permanently scar the skin is not large, and varies from individual to individual.
A home laser kit that really worked would not get a consumer product license in the EU, as a single misapplication of a suitably powerful device could cause permanent blindness, for example, deep burns, folliculitis, dental enamel heat stress fracture, and so on.

i've used the rio and it doesn't really work.i think it's best to invest in either electrolysis or laser IPL.
