Hi guys,
I am Alex, and I'm a 23yr old FTM living in the Hague, Netherlands. Just started the procedure so I am pre-T. And am slowly coming out to everyone, it's really liberating after have been in hiding for so long. Actually, I just really put out a blog on myspace and to my surprise (not a good one) only 1 person responded, and I didn't think it would hurt me as much as it did. Maybe because this is such an important outing to me..?
Well anyways, it doesn't really matter because I am finally doing what I needa do for ME.
So I am on here to meet other cool ppl, haven't met any other transmen so i'm hoping to do that here.
Can't wait to meet y'all!! _________________ Desire, ask, believe, receive.

Welcome to tzone Alex. I'm MtF but I'll say hi anyway . I know what you mean about the feeling of liberation when you start coming out to people - it feels really great. Also the more people you tell the easier it gets. In real life I find people to be mostly accepting so when I come across someone that makes some issue of it I just think they are some kind of weirdo. Some places on the internet can be worse because there are people that insult other people by default as it makes them feel big while they hide behind their anonymity - I pity them

Thanks Genderquest!! It certainly doesn't matter to me that youre a mtf, when it comes down to it, we're both going through the same damn thing don't you agree? It's true, the people I have told in real life tend to be a lot more accepting than what you'd expect online. That's why I came to this place because we are all equal.
Can I ask how far you are in your process and how you're experienced/experiencing it? _________________ Desire, ask, believe, receive.

Yup the people on here are great and it's so good to be able to share experiences. I'm pretty early on in transitioning. I decided to actually do something about all this about 8 months ago, but first went to a doc only about 4 months ago. Everything that has happened I've done for myself, the docs have done literally nothing for me as of yet - it's a slow old process here. What is the process like in Holland?

Wow I am sorry to hear that it's so slow there (where is there anyways?). Well I decided to do something about all this last summer, so I enrolled in the genderteam at the VU in Amsterdam. From then on it took about 6 months just to have the intake (and that was two weeks ago). The intake was with a psychologist and she was really nice. She gave me the green light to proceed on to the next round which is more interviews and tests for about 6 more months. After this I'll go on T and do my RLT. I think when it comes to transgendering it's a slow process everywhere. It's just so frustrating because you've been waiting for so long already and I couldn't be any more ready than I am now.
The thing is, I work at a place where it's a very distinguished men's culture so everyday I go to work in the ultimate female-role and it's seriously killing me. It pays really well but it's just not worth I am starting to think. It's like I'm in drag every single day.
One of the next radical steps is to finally cut my long hair something I've been wanting to do but never got the courage to do.
In a few weeks I am going to visit my parents in Spain and tell them. My mom actually already knows but doesn't acknowledge it.. Nervewrecking. _________________ Desire, ask, believe, receive.

Hi Alex, welcome to tzone, nice to meet ya!
I'm another FTM guy - and there's quite a lot of us here, so you're definitely not alone!
Good luck with going to talk to your parents - I know exactly how difficult that is; for me, it was definitely the hardest thing about transitioning (so far anyway!)
Look forward to hearing more fron you mate - as Chrissy says, why not start a blog and keep us all up to date on what's going on in your life.
