About two miles. Smile

Went to the Sandyford today. Much of a formality, really. Just let Dr Carr know that I'd been to the endo and IPL and asked when Mr Thomas is in town next. Possibly November, but not sure... which means nothing.

We had a chat about funding and it seems that Lanarkshire have a reputation for being stingy. I need the hairs off my plums and it looks like I'm going to have to pay for that too. Dr Carr said she'll write to them but it may mean that I end up having electrolysis down there instead of not-so-ouch IPL. I'll see what happens but I think I'll go for the IPL if I can agree a sensible price.

I mentioned the Gender Recognition Panel and Dr Carr's smile vanished to be replaced by bulldog-chewing-a-wasp. They make a nuisance of themselves apparently. Well, we know that...

I went out into the rain and went to the model shop where the guy calls you "sir" three times a sentence. Not this time. Yippee! If you can pass in there, you can pass anywhere. Came away with a set of files, a Sea Harrier and a Sea Vixen. With the Sea Fury I bought last time, that should do for the top of my bookshelf.

Later, I went to Hamilton Sheriff Court to find out about getting my stat dec signed. Ended up having to walk to the District Court, only to find it shut and then to a Solicitors / Notaries to be told that I'd have to part with £58. The lass told me to go to the District Court, which is what I'll do.

I've written up the stat dec elsewhere.

Went to Debenhams today looking for bras. I asked for assistance and the lady asked me when I'd last been fitted. I had to "out" myself:

"Never" Embarassed

And so she sussed me as trans. No problem, she's used to trans folk coming in for bras and suchlike. Best fit was a 36C. Not bad for three years on the pill.

you have my admiration for facing the underware purchasing task reenie.
The bra department has always been a source of terror to me, like a jungle full of weird shaped traps just waiting to catch you out.
Hmmm, maybe you have a slightly different view of the place however Laughing

Your band size is 36, I am so jealous, mine is 40 but I get away with wearing a 38.

Not really. Lingerie departments aren't my favourite places either. There's very little that I'll actually fit in and trying to find it is looking for the needle in the haystack. Actually, you could imagine having a nightmare in which all those bras grew spikes and turned into so many venus fly-traps. Shocked

I don't really understand it, Chrissy. Bra sizes are a law unto themselves. I was wearing a 38A until the middle of last year, although it was a bit tight. Confused

The lady I saw recommended a 38B if I get any bigger.

Bra sizes are pretty easy to understand when you know how they work.

You have your band size, the number, this is the measurement just below your breasts, effectively your chest size. And you have the cup size, the letter, the cup size is relative to the band size.

For example my perfect bra size is 40A but they are a little hard to come by so I wear 38B which has the same size cup as a 40A, which also would be the same size cup on a 36C. A common misconception is that a C is a C no matter what the band size. So 36C, 38B and 40A are all the same size breasts but on bigger or smaller bodies.

I hope that makes sense and doesn't confuse even more, lol

Glad the model shop guy's no longer giving you grief, Reenie.

Wow, I never knew that. Learn something new on here every day, it seems!
I've only had the misfortune to have to go bra shopping once (just to further confuse the sales assistant, I bought some boxers at the same time Cool ) so sizing is not something I've put much thought into. Underworks is so much easier, lol. Step 1: find a t-shirt that I could last fit into when I was 8. Step 2: buy binder in that size. Very Happy

So much for the bra fitting the other day. Picked up a 36C in Sainsbury's the other day and it was like an instrument of torture. I took it back and swapped it for a 38B which still felt a little tight. I've bought a 38C and though the cups feel OK, it's still a little tight. It may have to be a 40B.

Hmmm strange, perhaps like so many things the sizes vary a bit from shop to shop. I've not had any problems like that myself but I only own 4 bras and 2 of those are the same but in different colours. I don't suppose it's any consolation that most women wear the wrong size anyway, lol

I had a look at that Peter Kay spoof of X Factor. What a load of mawkish tripe. Bleuch.

I started out with nothing...

You need Seasick Steve >>

I enjoy eating dictionaries and regurgitating them. Smile

I was having another one of my footy-siestas this afternoon when the mobile rang. It said Eddie on it so I answered it cautiously...

It was my ex-missus. I've been avoiding everyone from my past because they're still living in it and I've no desire to be dragged back to any of it.

So Eddie was 'round at my ex's and I ended up talking to them for a while, trying not to be too distant. Of course I had my old nickname thrown at me. Urgh.

When I'd finished, I decided to tackle the BBC about "male transsexualism" (see genetic thread in the news section) and when they couldn't put me through to BBC online, I was "sirred", no doubt because my voice had reverted somewhat while talking to the ex and Eddie.

I ditched my Facebook account some while ago and I've been thinking seriously about changing my name again and losing the past altogether.

My surname is still my old nickname and while that made life easier in Somerset, it doesn't here. Scottish folk don't have a clue how to pronounce it. Only the Asian community get it spot on for some reason.

I really don't want all the hassle all over again, but then I don't want my past even more. I find it difficult to look at old photos from a few years back and wonder whether I should delete some of them. Since I've been passing, it's really amazed me just how miserable my life was up until recently. No wonder we have such an awful suicide rate.

Think twice or "sleep on" getting rid of those photos. There are a few I got rid of and regretted losing later.

As for the name thing, I figure if your going to choose your own name anyway, make sure you're happy about it. Keep changing it until you are. All those fools wondering about with given names like three-piece suits.

I'll burn them to CD and then let it gather dust.

I've got one. I've had it in mind for a long while. Turns out my "maiden" name is part of a certain Scottish clan and this name his other significance beside. I won't be publishing it because I don't want my past catchimg up with me like it did at the weekend.

Ill fitting suits, fashion victims of their parents' devising, strait-jacketted in their waistcoats...
