I hope no one minds if I start a new one of these. I just find it easier to split them up into different sections.
If this is awkward, I will go back to the Kenneth of Mistaken Identity thread.
Anyway, I am back from a fantastic fortnight in the Lake District
I hope everyone here is fine and I hope no one has been affected badly by the flooding
I also hope the creation/evolution debate hasn't become too long in my absence!
I'm tired at the moment from late night after late night...so don't expect to get much sense out of me right now (as usualy lol)! (When I say late night, I mean 10 or eleven o'clock which is late for me).
I'll see you around _________________ Teenager. FTM gender dysphoric 'transgender tomboy'

Lol, no - it's short for Naomi. It's nice because it's androgynous without going male or deviating from the name that's familiar to eveyone. Also, my mum sometimes calls me it (although she spells it nay or even neigh if she writes it! lol)
The 'nobody' was just because...I don't know lol I just wrote it _________________ Teenager. FTM gender dysphoric 'transgender tomboy'

Thanks
I don't mind which name people use on here though.
Anyway, today I am applying to the Guide Dogs again, this time for the position of Dog Care and Welfare Staff Member (basically kennel worker lol).
ARGH! Is there no getting away from babies? Yesterday, I heard a the crying of nearly-newborn baby from the house whose garden backs onto our garden. I swear I hate that noise. It literally gives me a sickening feeling. The look of them, the sight of them, they're gross, especially when they've got those huge saggy cheeks. Yuk. And then, later, I go on Myspace and I see in the 'cool new videos' box that someone has posted a video of a baby moving about inside their huge pregnant belly. I mean, come on, that is vile. Why are pregnant women obsessed with their internal growths and talk about how big their bumps are etc., like anyone's bothered or remotely interested _________________ Teenager. I know what you mean. I always feel like saying "Congratulations! You have a parasite..." |
I know. I mean if they want a parasite, that's fine by me, but it seems a bit strange. I mean, you wouldn't want cancer.
Cancer = an internal growth of cells which can cause death.
Foetus = an internal growth of cells which can cause death.
Okay, so the former is more lethal then the latter, but you get what I mean.
Cancer causes pain and distress.
Foetus can cause pain and distress.
One of the differences is that cancer patients don't talk about their condition as much
I sat next to a pregnant woman and her friend today and she only once mentionned anything to do with her pregnant state. Actually, the friend mentionned it once too. That must be a record! lol
Sorry, I'm being cynical
Anyway, today I cycled from Moseley to Packwood house in Lapworth and then from there to Baddesley Clinton and then back home. I used my new National Trust membership form to enter both properties for free (The membership cost £19.50 and my parents bought it on holiday to use the car park sticker ).
I think I cycled about 26 miles altogether , but I haven't added it up yet.
On a more annoyed note, I wish people could be more considerate towards cyclists. I was beeped at at least once, was shouted at by someone (not angrily, but they don't realise that I need to concentrate on the road) and I swear a motorist used his window-cleaning sprays on purpose as he overtook me (you don't generally clean your windscreen as you overtake someone). The water sprayed over the vehicle and sprinked me with the water. How rude.
I truly believe - and I know I'm not alone in saying this - that all motorists should ride a bike for a day. then they wouldn't tailgate cyclists, beep at them, push them off the road, knock them off balance with their side wide while overtaking etc. etc. etc. They never give cyclists room at junctions. I am driving a vehicle too and they need to wait behind me, not in front of me. How difficult is it? I mean they go 3-6 times faster than me anyway, so it's not as if they're short of time, if you know what I mean.
While drivers sit slumped in their seats shifting gears while the engine does all the work, cyclists:
- have to watch every inch of the road for potholes, bumps, sharp items, slippery surfaces etc. while also watching the traffic, looking at road signs, following the rules and working out where to go
- are constantly shifting their balance
- work constantly to move their vehicle
- are balanced on two wheels (or three, depending on the vehicle, but tricycles can still tip over!)
- can't stop very suddenly
- have to balance precariously as they indicate
- breathe in fumes
- endure other drivers' anger, inconsiderate behaviour and ignorance
Oh, the list goes on, but I have to eat now
I'm hungry! _________________ Teenager. FTM gender dysphoric 'transgender tomboy'

I must admit ive shouted at a cyclist once. We were drivin along a busy road and the cyclist was in front of us but in the middle of our lane, not at the side were he should've been. There was no way round him for a while cus the traffic was that busy so when there was a clearin in the next lane we moved over and over took and I wound my window down and yelled 'MOVE OVER' at him.
I do know a bit about what you're talkin bout tho, I used to drive a moped and although its not the same as a push bike, you still have to watch out for the same sort of hazards and car drivers just dont see you or pay attention to you which caused me near accidents on a few occassions and gave me terrible road rage

i use my bike and my car because i dont think its right to take a car out if your going less than 2 miles so i do take into account the people on bikes i give them room and carefully overtake when its save to do so.
Made me laugh the saturday just gone because some old drunk bloke was on his bike rideing all over the road there was no way i could over take him it was almost midnight lol no cars behind me so for half a mile i went at about 2 mph it was funny took about 5-10 mins but it was late and it dident hurt me to wait
Not all us car drivers are bad you no _________________ ....................................................................

Cyclists don't have to stay right at the side - if they do, they have to swerve round parked cars, drains, roadkill etc. which makes it more dangerous for the cyclist and other road users.
Also, it is legal to ride two abreast on the road, so the cyclist was fine being in the middle of the lane, as far as I know.
I used to stay at the side of the road, but after almost hitting the curb a few times, losing grip on the double yellow lines (the paint hasn't much grip) and losing my place on the road when it comes to junctions etc. etc., I've learned to be assertive and hold my place on the road. It's very important. If you hover around in the gutter, it makes things incredibly difficult when approaching and negotiating junctions (especially turning right and even going straight on) because the cars all go level with you which is so annoying because you need as much as they do to be in front of the traffic to see what's going on.
In this country in particular, many people seem to only think of cycling as purely an unnecessary leisure activity and think they have to right to 'block' the way for their oh-so-supreme 'legitimate' modes of transport (if you see what I mean).
My bike is my transport and I have just as much right to use the roads as everyone else does. I wish more drivers could see that
If I go on the pavement, I annoy pedestrians. If I go on the road, I annoy motorists. Basically, a cyclist can't win. (Also, some cars drive in the on-road cycle lanes and the pavement cycle lanes always have people wandering about in them). When people say 'use the cycle lane' what they don't realise is that most cycle lanes are far too narrow, they stop and start every few metres (literally), they sometimes disappear altogether, leaving you wondering where you're 'allowed' to go and where the on-road ones suddenly stop, cars often park at the end of them, so you have to swerve out into the road to go round them
Also, I've heard a lot of motorists complain that cyclists all too often take their bike onto the pavement to get round a junction or something while the motorists (oh, poor them) have to wait for the lights, cars etc. That's mainly because the motorists are so pushy that the cyclist wouldn't stand a chance at that point in the road.
Oh, I could go on for hours! But I won't

I'm sorry, but I have to share this
The new car makes me far too sexually aroused
I wish I was joking. I spent over an hour on holiday being sexually aroused from it. It's not funny
Yes, I know it's a bizarre thing to write, but it's annoying me.
I get aroused:
- in the new car
- in front of the computer
- in bed
- and at random other times with no reason whatsoever
This is annoying. I thought I would have grown out of it by now _________________ Teenager. FTM gender dysphoric 'transgender tomboy'
