Hi everyone, my name is Mark and I'm new 2 tzone. I have been going through transition for about seven years now, which has left me a 31yr old, overweight, balding male, LOL. I am now in the final stages of phalloplasty surgery, 4 ops down, 3 to go. My question is has anyone experienced problems with having their water works connected up ? My problem is that I keep getting fistula's (hole's) !! I have had the op done twice now, but with little success, coz I have to still sit down to pee, but with bizzarre consicuences ( 50% out of penis, 50% from downstairs)which has left me feeling a bit low !! I had a skin graft / attery / fat, removed from my forearm to create the tubing inside the penis, enabling me to pee from the tip of the penis. This was great at first, but now Im not so sure because I have been told by my Surgeon, he will do it again but if it does not work he will try again in 3 to 4 yrs time, if it does not work that time, then thats it, I will have to pee sitting forever Crying or Very sad

Hey maximus and welcome to tzone.

The majority of men on this forum have not been through this procedure (I only know of one, Mitch, who I'm not sure is currently active here), so you may not get many answers.

I'm not sure where the best place to ask would be. Try www.livejournal.com/community/ftm as there are a lot of post-trans men on there and they seem to have more information on advanced questions (if you haven't tried there already).

Hi Mark, sorry to hear your having problems with your surgery. I have had forearm phalloplasty and would be happy to help with any advice I am able to give. I, luckily didn't have any problems and went from start to finish in 4 ops and 11 months. I know others who had surgery at the same time as myself who had problems with the urethra leaking due to phistulas (sure thats not spelt right lol)! they can be a problem but usually heal themselves so hopefully after it is operated on again you will be fine. Who is your surgeon cause if it's Mr.Ralph and Mr.Christopher you are in excellent hands. Feel free to PM me with any further questions. Regards, Ollie.
