People know my feelings about Sony's "Home" System. You've read into it i presume? The major problem i have is this is second life where in a year or so the majority of small children will be able to access. Now you get your own "appartment" in this application in which you can decorate with pictures from your own hard drive. Not only that but you can invite people back to your appartment to look around. They are going to have to SERIOUSLY police it to make sure nothing bad happens.

I'm just very worried that Sony has been eager to capitalise on the 3D Online Avatar market without thinking through who their audience will be :/ Parents still believe consoles are for children and with the next generation of games consoles being totally online, it's the same as having your child logged into any 3D world without supervision.

Well those are my problems with it, i'm sure it will be an all round successful application, shame about the ridiculous price tag, even with staff discount

i think sony have kind of priced themselves out of the kid's toy market with the ps3.
so i dont think it'll be as big a problem as it could.

there will be issues with adults preying on kids but with any online service that allows you to interact with real people there's that danger.

there will be controls on what content can be viewed by children, for the official content at least.
and i think sony will likely monitor for any innapropiate behaviour or media.
they really dont want more bad press right now.

i personally feel home could actually build more of a community for a console than swearing at each other why trying to shoot each other in the head ever could.

and as somebody who has a pc that would most likely give up the ghost if it even thought about running 2nd life, i cant wait to try home.

Having never played SL it is difficult to say how much children will be at risk, but having put more than my fair share of time into shooting my friends in the head I just hope that the surge of little kids who will be using SL do not become a nuisance for the veteran users.

Aside from that, the video looks good. If I had a powerful enough computer or the $600 extra laying around for the PS3 I would buy it.
