i have to say one sentence i never thought i'd ever hear if i lived to be a hundred was "my testicle fell out" Shocked

and dr bowers does seem pretty good at her job and she seeems nice.
and at least you would feel confident in trusting her when she talks about transitioning becase she's done it all herself.
i doubt many surgeons can give you an idea of what to expect from their surgery through personal experience, no matter what the operation.

and one point stood out for me in last weeks episode.
when they clamped the testicles.
those born with real testicles will know how sensitive they can be so seeing them being treated like that kind of makes you wince a little, well it did me anyway, whether you'd still have that reaction post op i dont know.
hopefully i can watch that episode again one day and find out.

Yeah I think she's a lovely woman and a great surgeon too. I would feel 110% ok with her operatin on me. Like you sed cus she's been thru it all you know that she knows what she's talkin about. Rather than an average non trans surgeon tellin you whats what, yeah its his/her job to know what theyre talkin about but they havent been thru it so you'd always think well how the hell'd you know how much pain im gunna be in etc Laughing

yah its ironic that there is no way a white person would be chosen as the head of a racial equality unit
Professor Kay Hampton became chair of the Commission for Racial Equality - chosen for one obvious reason

or a non disabled person in charge of the Disability Discrimination commission

but there always seems to be non trans telling trans what to do - bout time that changed - we need more moles (tzone moderator) and more marcies and more social care workers who DO KNOW what its like as thats more than 50% of the experience

when you put it that way it does sound a bit funny.

watched yesterday's episode.

i really felt for emori.
i cant imagine what it must be like to be told that you may never be able to have the surgery.
gotta be devastating.
i wonder if she did manage to get her surgery, i hope so.

Just a little note to say that this series is being repeated from Thursday at 10:30pm on channel 4, for those who missed/couldn't watch it on more 4 (and for those who just want to watch it again Smile
