Lucy: Teen Transsexual In Thailand (Documentary, UK)

Follow-up to the documentary in which Lucy Parker began the physical transformation to change her body from male to female. Lucy travels to Thailand to complete the final stage of her sex reassignment surgery, as she undergoes a gruelling five-hour operation to permanently change her genitalia. The film follows Lucy's painful recovery and her emotional homecoming. After 18 years of dreaming about having a female body, will Lucy feel complete or will achieving her goal be an anti-climax?

Next Tuesday (25th September) at 9.00pm on BBC THREE (available via satellite, cable and Freeview)
(Stereo, Widescreen, Subtitles)

Good programme again. Did feel sorry for her having to stay in Thailand for a month alone. I have to admit I dont think I would of liked that either. Esp when in recovery, id want to be waited on hand and foot Laughing

Lets hope the rest of her life is a happy one and she gets all she wants out of life as Lucy.

shes lucky that its 2007 some have had to wait a long time to become their true selves - i feel for those that are having the op in retirement

she is herself now - shes lucky Smile

Now shes complete and thats the end of the BBCs tale - wonder what they will do next

Wildflower, thanks for the heads up........I managed to catch the repeat showing last night.

A couple of things sprang to mind though.

I thought the production company really skimped on this second show......at least half (probably more) of the footage was lifted directly from the first programme!

It was a real shame that her Mum couldn't be there to support her as her granpa and uncle were bloomin useless! Especially at the bit when they were saying goodbye before her surgery.........they just stuck out their hands in a very formal "blokish" way to shake hands and what she really needed was a great big hug!!! And then they buggered off home leaving her all alone in Thailand!!

It must have been a really tough month for her recuperating so far away without her family. I remember my month of recuperation was basically spent lying on my mums sofa, reading books, watching DVD's / daytime telly and being waited on hand and foot!

It was great! Laughing

i wonder if the BBC (independent production company) could have put up the cash for the family to visit - i mean they are gonna make a fortune with that video off her back syndicating it - on the release she should have had a lawyer put in a broadcast COMMENT BBC3 use only broadcast no more than 3 times - then lets see how keen they would be - this will be syndicated for 1000s all over the world

if indeed they were robbed then it s really poor show the producers didnt pay for them to remain

stinks
