I have been doing a small bit of research into the taking of T.

I have found out a number of things, some go aganst things I have all ready said. And at the time of writing, I had (as far as I knew) good information.

So.........

For all those who have injections. If you warm up the vial fisrt before it goes into the butt.

This can be done by wrapping it in a tissue and placing it in the pit of your arm, this should be done carefully for a few minutes before the injection. I have now got my nurse to hand mind over, we talk and then I hand it over. She finds it far easyer to inject.

All shots should go in slowly as posible. By doing that you should NOT get the "egg" in the butt, nor should it be sore after.

No butt eggs for me.....

NEBIDO.

Before I was told that you can take this in both butts, I.E. sperating the dose. I have now been informed that this should not happen unless your doctor has percivaly has given a reason. By doing that the DK, (don't ask) is disrupted. Also the warming will work for that too. So for those who are taking NEBIDO, try and take it very slowly and all in the same butt.

Gels. These should go over the chest and sholders, do not make love naked after putting it on, or your partner can absorbe some of it. Wear a T shirt. You can also rub this into the genetal area.

Tablets. You should have regular blood checks on the Liver.

Lozengers. These are best under the lip aganst the gum, and let it disolve slowly.

Creams. As what ever your doctor states.

Before going on any type of T a full blood check should always be carried out.

I hope that this helps in a small way. I my self now warms the T it does work lads.

By the way, no matter what you all ready have before going on T, it can all change after taking it. Some of you may need more whlie others need to take less. Tha is another good reason to have checks done reguly.

i've personally found (and so have others i know personally), that injecting quicker (as in, actually inserting the needle in quicker) causes less pain afterwards than doing it extra slow. this advice originally came from my friend's endocrinologist. if anything i've been advised not to do it slow, and to do it in more of a dart-like motion. but i inject in to the thigh, i dont know if its different if you're injecting elsewhere.

also, the 'dont have sex/contact after applying the gel' rule only really applies if your partner is female, as it doesn't really matter if you expose a man to small amounts of testosterone, for obvious reasons.

I presume what thefishkeeper means is actually injecting the T rather than how fast you push the needle in.

I agree that the quicker it is done the less painful it is but I have been advised by all the (Many) doctors (being treated in Leeds and they are getting through doctors like no-ones business at the moment) that the actual administration of the fluid should be done slowly.

I've only had the "egg in the butt sydrome" twice in the 6 months I've been on T and generally (the missus) sticks needle in quickly then releases the T slowly. Seems to work ok.

first shot was painful so a freind told me to warm up the vial i did this by holding it in my hand while i was sittting waiting to go in i had it in my hand and it worked i think as it seemed to hurt less so from now on i will be doing that

i havent found my shots particulaly painful just feels like a bruise really.. my mum is learning to inject me so i don't have to travel to get my shot, and when she injects me it's less pain then the doctors.

don't want to sound thick but when you say warming up? is that because it hurts less or that it works better?

Also, has any one felt any difference when going from 100mg of sustonon to 250mg? just want a heads up so i know what to expect and don't turn into the incredible hulk or something... even though that would be kinda cool.

gel shouldn't be applied neat to the genitals (well, the delicate parts...) it will sting a lot (the alcohol) but mixed with something (like the T cream you can get) like water based lube or a non-alcoholic hand cream it is fine.

I put it on my thighs and belly as well as chest and arms and it seems to work fine.

Hey guys,
Maybe this should go in as a new thread as it's about T types rather than injection techniques. Let me know if so, and I'll start a new one. If my GP maintains her promise to fund it, I should be starting on Nebido pretty soon... I was just wondering if anybody else was on that type of T and how it was going for you!

Lucky, I think it'd be nice to only need to inject every few months

Maybe I can look into it when I'm over there, it seems to me it's not FDA approved over here yet...

Sorry I only just noticed your post about Nebido. I was on Sustanon originally for the first 9 months but switched to Nebido about 5 months ago.

I was switched to Nebido by a new doctor who says it is more steady overall. He said that with Sutanon you get an almighty surge of T at the beginning of the injection (fit for King Kong) which drops off rapidly over the 3-4 weeks until the next injection. Whereas with Nebido it stays more level over the duration of the injection.

Usually when you switch to Nebido you will have the second injection 6 weeks after the first injection, then every 12 weeks subsequently (depending on blood test results).

So far I do agree with the doctor in so much that it is a much steadier hormone than Sustanon over the duration between injections. The only thing I am a bit concerned about is that it seems to wear off after around 10 weeks and my body seems to start getting pmt symptoms.

Also the ampule injection dosage is much higher than it was with Sustanon. I was using 250mg ampules with Sustanon and now use 1000mg of Nebido so it takes longer to inject although luckily I am not bothered by the injections. I inject the whole dose into 1 buttock but alternate left to right sides between each injection.

Hope this helps. I would have thought you have probably already started on Nebido by now as the post I have replied to was quite old. If you have can you let me know what you think about it please? Or if anyone else is using Nebido I would also like to hear their opinions on it compared to Sustanon.
