There have been a few problems of late with our beloved forum.

Strange messages have been appearing from which I sense that the database is becoming increasingly corrupt.

Lately I've been logged out for no reason and tonight, I find it does this every minute or so...

Please, whatever it takes, can we have the raw data exported, the tables and indexes rebuilt...

Thanks

Reenie

It took me a couple of attempts to get this to post. With delicious irony, the first failed:

Quote:
Could not obtain common word list

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1194 Table 'w' is marked as crashed and should be repaired

SELECT m.word_id FROM tzone_search_wordmatch m, tzone_search_wordlist w WHERE w.word_text IN ('appearing', 'becoming', 'beloved', 'corrupt', 'data', 'database', 'exported', 'few', 'forum', 'increasingly', 'indexes', 'ive', 'late', 'lately', 'logged', 'loggedin', 'maintaining', 'messages', 'minute', 'problems', 'raw', 'reason', 'rebuilt', 'reenie', 'sense', 'state', 'strange', 'tables', 'takes', 'thanks', 'tonight', 'whatever') AND m.word_id = w.word_id GROUP BY m.word_id HAVING COUNT(m.word_id) > 7382

Line : 309
File : functions_search.php

I think the hosts freeforums.org are having problems with their servers again, I'm going to check out their support site. I am an administrator on my own freeforums chat forum and I think the problem is at the hosts end. There isn't much we can do from this end apart from make the hosts freeforums aware of the problems and hope they can get it sorted soon.

I have been logged in and out like a yo-yo and post notifications have disappeared and reappeared. I am no expert but it seems like the different servers the hosts use are out of sync or something like that.

I'd thought it a problem with cookies or some such on my machine, but the SQL error nails it to a server database problem.

Well I've looked on the freeforums support site and all they are saying is that they are working hard to resolve the login problems. It seems that quite a few forums that are hosted by freeforums are affected. I remember we had some problems like this a while ago and they got sorted out, hopefully it won't take too long to sort out again They do seem to have problems like this after they have done a big server upgrade.

If you could give me an idea of the total bandwidth, I'd be more than happy to contemplate hosting it myself if the bandwidth isn't excessive. That at least, would remove the 3rd party unreliability.

Admin: please can we resync "My Story and Daily Blogs" section?

My thread and a few others keep generating "Post or Topic not found" errors when looking for the last post in the thread or when posting to the thread.

Ta.

Reenie,
it seems that the forum is generating the next page when the post's get to a certain volum on the live page. We have said some thing but it still keeps happening. They may or may not be able to sort this out.

Nathan.
I too had problems getting on to the forums. So I now go the long way around, that is on tothe home page then follow the links. Try that and se if it helps.

Wink
