Hey guys,
I was thinking about binding recently. I stopped doing it because it started to give me a lot of pain around my ribs and I ended up becoming kind of 'addicted' to it. I wouldn't go anywhere without binding almost. Now, I go to college without doing so because I think I pass ok (I'm around a pancakey C now but I was a horrible DD before T)
The only thing that bothers me is if I'm not binding, what I should wear underneath? I didn't feel like wearing no form of (ugh) 'support' and I found it kind of uncomfortable, so I decided I had to wear bras until I get my chest surgery and get rid of these things. I despise them and dunno how girls could ever wear them but I suppose that they don't think like that. I just wondered what other people do so I set up a poll.

I bind if I'm out of the house at all.
Have you tried sports bras? Though I suppose that might be hard on the ribs too *shrug*
If you're not binding, you should wear underneath whatever you feel best about wearing underneath. If that's a bra, then wear that.

Yep, I always bind. My chest is WAY too large for me not to. I only remove my binder if I'm sure that I'm not going out or having visitors - in other words, once I'm getting ready for bed usually. If we have visitors, I try and shower and dress before having to spend any time with them also, with the exception of a few VERY close friends.
I've also heard good things about the Title 9 Frog Bra, if you're not too large chested. You can check it out here if you want more information about it.

if i'm going to set foot outta my door i bind,
even with the fire alarm blaring i stop to put my binder on first.
when at home if we had no guests i'd often not bind for the day to give my poor lungs some breathing space but i'd never step foot outside without my binder on. _________________ 僕は男の人です

If it was a choice betwwen binder/burning....
I would not care who saw me with out a binder, it's who is on the inside.
I'd rather be safe with out a binder and live my life. Than taking time ti bind and may be get burnt, with the possablity of never be able to bind.

ever since this time last year i dont think ive set foot outside this house without my binder on and the one time i had to go without in public i felt very very uncomfortable.
for me its simply a choice between physical discomfort and mental discomfort. the mental discomfort of not binding has always outweighed the physical problems i had in the early days of binding (my home made one) but since i got myself a proper one i havent had much discomfort at all luckily
i always take my binder off the moment i get home in the evening and leave it off when im not going out tho to give my m00bs a rest. _________________ "...risk something, take back whats yours, say something that you know they might attack you for..."

Ive only just ordered my first binder so I obviously dont bind yet!
I havent worn a bra for over 2 years as I couldnt stand to wear one anymore but didnt know about binding! I just wear a vest under eveything and wear baggy clothes most of the time.
I dont think Id be at all happy to wear a bra anymore - I looked online for a reasonable sports bra as Ive just got a treadmill so am jogging but I couldnt face buying one - I was surprised at the strong reaction I had.
I know what you mean Nathan about weighing up physical and mental discomfort!

I do not bind, neither wear bras (stopped when was 14, I guess).
I don't know my size, but it's not large so it's not too visible even when I wear just a Tshirt.
As for the clothes, IMO, multi-layered clothes is the best choice: a T-shirt and a shirt over it, for example.
An under-sized vest usually is not bad for an effect of a flatter chest, but make sure it's long enough because usually small sizes are for kids so they end somewhere above the navel and when you can't tuck it, all the effect is wasted. _________________ I have to EDIT because I can't SPELL!!

I constantly bind. Can't stand it otherwise.
Gets sore sometimes, but such is vanity. _________________ Pay no attention to the moderator in a gimp mask behind the curtain.

i cudnt do that. i wud rather wear a bra and be able to forget the moobs exist than have them bouncing up and down constantly reminding me of their presence. _________________ "...risk something, take back whats yours, say something that you know they might attack you for..."

I dont have that problem fortunately - they are pretty well behaved so I can almost forget they are there! (just dont look down....)
