What Type of testosterone did you first start on?
What changes did you notice first?
Have you changed testosterone since starting, if so to what?
If changed, has the new testosterone make a big difference?
Are you private or on the NHS, in taking the testosterone?
If with NHS, what help do you get from your doctor?
If private, what help are you getting, if any?
Do you self medicate? (any form of T).
If injecting? Do you get a nurse / GP to inject it for you?
These are some of the commonon questions that are being asked by all the guys who are pre and post Testosterone.
So, you can tell us here, about your changes, these will help all the young men coming here and the ones who have just started on T.
This is for you Finn.

Started with Sustanon 250
First thing I noticed was some growth down below. And soon crazy appetite and sex drive kicked in.
I'm now on testosterone enanthate
I don't think it's made a big difference other than I don't seem to emit an oily smell on shot day now .
Um neither, I'm in Canada.
I don't really get any help, I've been the one educating psychs and doctors
I inject myself

i started on sustanon 100 - 100mg every 2 weeks - generally considered a 'half dose', at the age of 18. i then increased at 2 months in to 200mg every 2 weeks, which is more of a full dose.
i don't really remember what I first noticed... probably the obvious (down below) stuff. then i think it was my voice.
i originally got testosterone prescribed privately, but i've since had it transferred over to the NHS. i've recently moved, so i live in a completely different area now, but before i moved the NHS had offered me supervision at an andrology (i think thats what it was) place in central london, just to monitor my hormone levels, as it was evident i didn't really need a GIC anymore. however, i never followed through on that due to moving, and am yet to sort out anything similar in my new place, so for the moment i'm just getting my prescriptions covered by the NHS. i expect i should be able to get a blood test off my GP as well, but i have neglected seeing him again for a couple of months, due to pure laziness, really. i don't know if they're likely to offer me anythign similar to what i would have had in london, which is a bit of a shame.
i self inject. just for the record, it's probably worth changing the phrasing of that from 'self medicating' to 'self-injecting'. self-medding usually implies you're getting T illegally without the supervision of a doctor, so it seems misleading as a question.

As it happens there are guys out there who are doing just that! They have never been to see any doctor, or had bloods checked and lastly DO self medicate.
They get the T from the internet, after reading about it and the buying it them selves.
So the question will stay, sorry mate.

What Type of testosterone did you first start on?
Cernos Gel
Testosterone USP 50mg, once a week, increased to once every 4 days.
What changes did you notice first?
Clitoral growth, the voice a bit, but it revertedagain and is still up and down. Belly hair.
Have you changed testosterone since starting, if so to what?
Testogel. It doesn't say what type of testosterone it is, but I would guess it is still USP. 50mg twice a day.
If changed, has the new testosterone make a big difference?
Not really. I have more body hair, and my facial hair is starting to come through, but that would be expected anyway, with just continuing the hormones.
Are you private or on the NHS, in taking the testosterone?
Private, though I get my hormones through the NHS because my GP is awesome.
If with NHS, what help do you get from your doctor?
He just prescribes for me. And he has been chasing psychiatrists to try and get me a referral to CXH
If private, what help are you getting, if any?
I saw Dr. Curtis in August and I will see him again in December. I had already done nearly 1 year RLT so I didn't need any counselling or owt.
Are you self medicating or do you get a nurse or GP to inject it for you?
n/a

I'm on Sustanon 250 every 4 weeks, the standard starting dose at CX.
| thefishkeeper wrote: | | What changes did you notice first? |
I've only had 2 shots so far - third one due on Friday this week. So far, my voice has dropped a bit, but that's about it really.
| thefishkeeper wrote: | | Have you changed testosterone since starting, if so to what? |
Nope, though I'd like to be on a higher dose.
| thefishkeeper wrote: | | If changed, has the new testosterone make a big difference? |
NA
| thefishkeeper wrote: | | Are you private or on the NHS, in taking the testosterone? |
NHS, via Charing Cross.
| thefishkeeper wrote: | | If with NHS, what help do you get from your doctor? |
My doctor writes the prescription, and gave me the first shot. The practice nurse gives me the shots now. They're also going to be sorting out blood tests and so on for me.

NA
| thefishkeeper wrote: | | Are you self medicating or do you get a nurse or GP to inject it for you? |
As above, the GP or nurse inject for me, though I might see about self-injecting (NOT self medicating, which implies to me that I'd be sourcing the T myself) at some point.

Oh. Maybe I wasn't supposed to answer, since I've only just started on T! Still, I'm hardly a "young" man...

This part of the thread has come to my attention with alarm bells and I think you should listen to Nicholas when he is trying to help you make an accurate post.
If you are indeed asking if people self-medicate (ie obtain their T without a prescription) then fine, that's a legitimate question.
However, you have worded it incorrectly by putting it along with the options to the question referring not to obtaining T, but to administering it in the body.
If you want to ask if people self-medicate, (this is a possible answer to the question about obtaining T) it should be in the question along with ''are you with the nhs, going private or self-medicating.
The question below on your post should be changed to self-injecting as the question is not asking how hormones are obtained but whether the person does the injecting by themselves or not.
The way you have worded it implies self-medicating and self-injecting are the same thing, and that people who are getting T via prescription and injecting themselves are still self-medicating. Which is of course wrong and misleading as then people reading this who don't know better could think it is a negative thing to self-inject.
TFK I realise not everyone has the best written grammar, and fair enough, you get your point across often with spelling and grammar being a bit sloppy. But I think when someone points out a mistake you have made in an important post, especially if they say your post is misleading, then in that instance I think it is better for everyone if you take other people's opinions into account and correct the mistakes rather than immediately dismissing them with this proud attitude you seem to have. And you will correct them if you really do care about this thread's main purpose in providing accurate information on T, so I guess we'll see what is more important to you soon. _________________ forum moderator

Although I do agree with Nicholas and William in the linguistic aspect ("self-injecting" does not equal "self-medicating", especially in the contest of the question), last passage of William's post just screams for a PM rather than a public board.
William, if you need explanations, I'm just a PM away.
I suggest, we go with the topic and leave TFK to act. Since the thread is sticky and thus is meant for posteriority, I'd really appreciate to have all off-topic comments (including this one) removed and should the discussion continues, take it to PM. _________________ I have to EDIT because I can't SPELL!!

Fair enough, thank you for your input, Juz. If my last paragraph was too strong I am happy to edit it or delete it but I felt it was necessary to get the point across as Nicholas basically said the same thing I did and got dismissed rather rudely. I won't go into it further. Any mod feel free to delete off-topic posts and leave it at that.

I guess I can post here now!!!
What Type of testosterone did you first start on?
I'm on Nebido 1000mg (4ml)
What changes did you notice first?
*runs to mirror again* give me a few weeks...
Have you changed testosterone since starting, if so to what?
N/A, but I had thought I'd probably be on Sustanon. I picked Nebido as Dr. Curtis advised me it was less likely to give mood swings and acne (which is a relief, as I'm still suffering from teenage skin). Also, I'm not the biggest fan of injections!
If changed, has the new testosterone make a big difference?
N/A
Are you private or on the NHS, in taking the testosterone?
I received my prescription from Dr. Curtis, but my local surgery funded it for me, so I just have to pay the NHS prescription charge (£6.85 I believe it was)
If with NHS, what help do you get from your doctor?
My GP has been great, although it's been entirely new for her. She has helped me out with letters and most of all with getting the T funded for me.
If private, what help are you getting, if any?
I've seen Dr. Curtis twice now with a three month 'real life experience' between the two appointments.
Are you self medicating or do you get a nurse or GP to inject it for you?
I do agree that the wording of this question should be changed, or the question split into two (i.e. 1. Are you self-medicating or do you have a prescription? and 2. Are you self-injecting?). I received my prescription from Dr. Curtis, picked the stuff up from the chemist, and got an injection from a nurse at my surgery. Simple!
