Ick. Shaved groin? No thanks.
I have it on good authority that it's itchy as hell, and I, personally, find a lack of public hair sickening.
Makes me think of children.
Which is so not erotic. *Shudder.* _________________ Pay no attention to the moderator in a gimp mask behind the curtain.

It just comes down to personal preference doesnt it. Every woman ive been with except one has shaved down there, not by my request I might add. Purely of her own accord. Some women like to do it and others dont.
Just like some blokes shave their pubic hair and some dont. Purely personal preference.
Seeing or being with a woman who shaves down there tho doesnt make me think of children. In my mind children and anythin remotely sexual are kept as far apart in my mind as possible.

Which to me, is exactly why women should have pubic hair.
Just my opinion. _________________ Pay no attention to the moderator in a gimp mask behind the curtain.

Because it's more attractive, even on men. Girls don't like to feel gross. I don't even know why this should have to be explained. I am so tired of being told by other people why I shave. Especially when they're telling me I'm doing it because "the men made me." If anybody thinks women are really that easy to brainwash, then they must not have much respect for the intelligence of most women.

Yeah because it's not as simple and overt as 'men make women shave'. If a man came up to you and shouted 'Go shave your legs right now you hairy wretch!' of course no one would do what he said. Or if a bunch of men formed a pressure group and gave out leaflets saying 'Hairy women are ugly and worthless' - we'd all say how horrible they were and how it was sexist.
The fact is, it's not just men saying women should shave/wax. It's society, it's the media, it's other women making us think we need to do it by displaying their own hairless bodies. It's part of the same set of expectations that persuades us that we need to lose weight, get boob jobs, wear high heels etc. etc.
'Girls don't like to feel gross' - I mean what the hell is that all about. Why is it gross to have hair on your legs, armpits and genital area? We spent thousands of years with it before razors were invented. (OK Ok, I know there's threading and whatever but that's not for giving yourself a Brazilian). _________________ Check out the Tzone team bios (including mine!) at: http://www.transgenderzone.com/bio.htm

Because it feels uncomfortable. So does a beard. _________________ The Daily Turnout - King of the Throne Room

I don't find it uncomfortable to have leg hair or pubic hair. Perhaps without the armpit hair I feel less sweaty. This is a personal choice however.
Not all men shave their beards. And for those men who grow beards, moustaches etc. it is not (generally) considered gross, disgusting or otherwise socially unacceptable.
Women (and indeed men) should feel free to remove as much or as little body hair as they feel comfortable with - and have no fear of ridicule. _________________ Check out the Tzone team bios (including mine!) at: http://www.transgenderzone.com/bio.htm

Maybe in a perfect world, but it's not gonna happen unless we all stop having our own ideas about what we find attractive, which would in turn require a world without any sexuality whatsoever. I'm not too interested.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you there. You should feel free to be attracted to people in whatever stage of hairlessness you prefer. But not everyone should have to live up to that same ideal. _________________ Check out the Tzone team bios (including mine!) at: http://www.transgenderzone.com/bio.htm

And nobody has to now. You said it yourself, there's nobody coming up to us and saying "YOU MUST SHAVE OR YOU SUCK!"
Feeling pressured to shave because you can tell it's what people find attractive from the amount of other people doing it and the amount of people who like it isn't anyone's fault. But if you give into that pressure and then blame other people, it's nobody's fault but your own.
Likewise, if you don't conform to such trends, it's not repression just because you feel left out when nobody conforms to your trends either.

Well some might say it's a slightly disturbing idea that men prefer women who look prepubescent.... |
Well heterosexual men tend to be attracted more to "youthful" looking women, and often those considered more attractive look more feminine and young, hence it's not surprising that hairless women are more attractive, increasing the appearance of youth. _________________ It's never too late to be who you might have been. - Mary Ann Evans

I have to agree with "Thedreadpersephone" on that. The problem is not that you or the next person would be attracted to this or that or the other. The problem is that most of us people seem to like more or less the same thing. The "thing" that comes out from the media, fashion etc. It's sad, it's deeply unfair (cause some people's looks comply with this thing, more easily than other's) and it's boring, too... But what can we do? The "what is beautiful" thing has been inserted in us, like a tape..., as we grow up in this society. We can "fight it" but I don't think we can completely erase it...
All we could do, is to change this bloody society
