i really want to use this (but of course i seem too stupid to Rolling Eyes ) and would appreciate some help on the very basic first part of creating myself.

i apparently have done this, but can't see me or what it looks like. all i can see are wee shadowy footprints when i walk, er, which isn't entirely helpful.

firstly you should wait until your av appears if you have low bandwidth

secondly try using the mouse wheel if you have one to scroll back and see you av from the back then use the cursor keys to rotate

lastly you can view yourself by right clicking your avatar and pressing APPEARANCE

or select it from your EDIT MENU Smile

Hope this helps Smile xxx

I installed SL, and when it initiated I got a message about my AGP graphics card being outdated, or something along those lines. But it continued to load. When I tried to sign in, it got all the way through, connected to the site and then the whole program died on its arse before sending an error report. Is there any way around this? Buying/fitting new components is not an option.

Similar problem here. I got round it by borrowing Mum's laptop. Trouble is, she wants it back.

Scrounge a computer from someone.

best thing to do is to do what i did thats cheap

for my win 98 pc i fitted a second hand graphics card from ebay

mine was a matrox millennium g450 thats about £15 as its a regular PCI slot card and thats important - only newer pcs HAVE THE AGP SLOTS

but it looks as if you need a new graphics card go for at least 128

x

crashing is one of two things bandwidth - you really need a broadband connection

graphics card you need at least 128 of graphic

you dont need any money - basic registration is all i have Smile - but you do need to register an account and activate it

you can earn money in there doing stuff if you really think you need it to buy stuff for your av infact there are some great freebie places where its all free so they are good enough unless you are an addict Smile

I want to use this, but is it free? If it's not, forget it.

Also, do I have to download it, or can I just use it in the web browser?

it's free Wink (unless you want to pay to get the premium version)

you have to download it the same way as you have to download msn, gizmo and other programs. it runs very slowly on older computers.

but it's worth it Very Happy
